This year Schulich alumni and faculty have been honoured in the 68th Grammy Awards, the 77th Emmy Awards, and the 29th Annual Prix Opus! Several alumni also received nominations for the 55th JUNO Awards, held on March 28, 2026. Congratulations to all the awardees and nominees!

2025 - 2026 Wirth Vocal Prize Semifinalists
The Wirth Vocal Prize听for听vocal performance was听established听in 2015 through the extraordinary generosity of Elizabeth Wirth to the Schulich School of Music of 成人VR视频, along with new Student Excellence Awards, and an innovative Student Initiatives Fund. Awarded yearly since its听inception, the Wirth Vocal Prize recognizes a voice student who听demonstrates听exceptional talent and significant promise for an international career.听听
2025 - 2026 Golden Violin Award Semi-Finalists
The Golden Violin Award was established in 2006 by businessman and philanthropist Seymour Schulich, a year after he donated $20 million to 成人VR视频鈥檚 Schulich School of Music. Made of pewter and gold plate, the Golden Violin remains on permanent display in 成人VR视频鈥檚 Marvin Duchow Music Library. This year marks the monumental 20th edition of the Golden Violin Award.听
Associate Professor Philippe Leroux Awarded Orchesterpreis for new work Paris, Banlieue at 2025 Donaueschinger Musiktage
Philippe Leroux, composer and associate professor in Music Research at the Schulich School of Music, has been awarded the 2025 Donaueschinger Musiktage Orchesterpreis (Orchestra Prize) for his new work Paris, Banlieue. In his composition, Leroux addresses the web of relationships between central Paris and its suburbs鈥攅specially with regard to the movements of people triggered by their daily work.听听
Liliana Ara煤jo and Andrea Creech recipients of John R. Evans Leaders Fund Award
We are excited to announce that Drs Liliana Ara煤jo and Andrea Creech have been named recipients of a John R. Evans Leaders Fund (JELF) award from the Canadian Foundation for Innovation. The JELF is a highly competitive competition designed to attract and support leading researchers working on innovative topics across Canadian universities and research institutes.

Two exceptional doctoral candidates from 成人VR视频's Schulich School of Music, Joseph Chang (DMus) and Jonathan Munro (DMus), have been awarded the prestigious Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship听in recognition of their innovative research.听This award provides up to $50,000 per year for up to three years, supporting outstanding students

Professor Michael McMahon has been appointed to the Order of Canada for his contributions in the art song and opera communities. His work as a vocal coach and collaborative pianist has left a mark on musicians nationally and internationally. 听
