Yi Jin
Yi is focused on exploring the intersections between Chinese choral music and choral music from the Western European tradition.
Born in Shaoxing, China, Yi Jin earned a master’s degree in choral conducting from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music, and a postgraduate degree in choral conducting from the University of Denver, Lamont School of Music. He also studied at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and the Sichuan Conservatory of Music, where he received a bachelor’s degree in music education. Yi has also served as the choir director at Broomfield United Methodist Church in Denver, CO. He currently serves as the music director of Shaoxing Teachers’ Philharmonic Choir. Yi was a semi-finalist in the Southwest American Choral Directors Association’s Graduate Conducting Competition. As a current D.Mus student at ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ, Yi is focused on exploring the intersections between Chinese choral music and choral music from the Western European tradition.
