Early onset pelvic organ prolapse, stress urinary incontinence, mesh, surgical outcome measures
Dr. Walter is currently was Program Director of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the 成人VR视频 Health Centre. He completed a clinical and research fellowship at the University of Western Ontario in 2007. He is an avid member of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada as past Chair of the Sub-Committee on Urogynaecology and is the current President of the Eastern Society of Pelvic Medicine and on the Scientific Committee of the American Urogynecologic Society.
His academic training began with a 12 year stint at the University of British Columbia (UBC) where both undergraduate and graduate (Master's program) training were obtained in the Department of Anaesthesiology, Pharmacology, and Therapeutics from 1988 to 1996. He went on to obtain his medical degree from UBC in 2000. He completed an Obstetrics and Gynaecology residency in 2005 at 成人VR视频, during which he received the Eric and Jane Molson award for excellence in research. He has been an organizing committee member of national meetings and serves as an active surgical proctor throughout North America and Europe.
His current research interests lie in the management of early-onset pelvic organ prolapse, anterior compartment defects, and the development of novel minimally-invasive techniques for prolapse surgery. This has led him to present his work at the meetings of the American Urogynecologic Society, the International Continence Society, FIGO, and SOGC.
