Biography: 

Dr. Karen Wou is an obstetrician/gynecologist at the MUHC who is subspecialized in Maternal Fetal Medicine. She completed her medical degree (2008) and Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency (2013) at 成人VR视频, Montreal, Canada then completed a 2-year fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine (2015) at the University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada as well as another 2-year fellowship in Clinical Genetics (2017) at Columbia University, New York, USA. Dr Wou is Canadian board certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada for OBGYN and MFM as well as American board certified for Medical Genetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics.

Dr. Karen Wou started her practice at the 成人VR视频 Health Center in January 2018 as a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist and was appointed a clinical assistant professor position at 成人VR视频. Dr Karen Wou also has a joined position on the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB). Her role is to ensure adequate and timely access to obstetrics and gynecology services for the women of the Cree Nation with monthly medical visits in region 18 to offer in -person consultations in obstetrics, gynecology and ultrasound. In addition, she acts as a liaison person at the MUHC to triage and direct patients to the appropriate corridors of service which also include Chibougamau and Val d'Or for non-tertiary care. Dr Wou is also an active member of many national and international societies: SOGC, SMFM, ISUOG, ISPD, ACMG.
