Dear members of the ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ community,ÌýÌý
I know that the situation on the lower field of downtown campus is on the minds of many of you.ÌýÌý
Yesterday saw groups of protesters of different viewpoints in the area of the Roddick Gates on ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ’s lower campus. The Montreal police (SPVM) mobilized and worked successfully to avoid escalation. We are grateful for their expertise and continue to collaborate closely with them.ÌýÌý
Some members of our community, particularly those on our campus yesterday, may have found the experience, including but not limited to the noise, tenor of the discourse, and disruption on campus caused by the multiple protests, unsettling. If you need support, resources are listed at the end of this email.ÌýÌý
We are focused on ensuring the health and safety of our community in this difficult and complex situation. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we strive to foster an environment on campus that is respectful and inclusive, to best prioritize our core academic mission. ÌýÌý
