MD, MSc
Her clinical work is with refugee children and with torture victims. She also does consultation work for health institutions and school boards on refugee children. Dr Rousseau's current research involves refugee children and adolescents from Southeast Asia, Central America and Somalia. Dr Rousseau is available for research supervision of graduate students in the fields of applied social science, psychology, social work, and psychiatry.
Dr Rousseau is a research and clinical psychiatrist at the Montreal Children's Hospital where she directs the Transcultural Child Psychiatry Clinic. She received her training in medicine and psychiatry at the University of Sherbrooke, Universit茅 de Montr茅al, and 成人VR视频.
Clinically, Dr Rousseau聽works with refugee and immigrant children, developing a model of culturally sensitive shared care for primary health care institutions. The school-based prevention programs for immigrant and refugee children developed by her team use a variety of creative expression modalities, including sand play, drawing and storytelling, theatre and video. Her research focuses on, among other things, the effect of the international context surrounding 9/11 on adults and children from minority and mainstream communities. This work will, ultimately, inform inter-sectorial policies and help schools to improve inter-community relations.
