Published: 17 February 2026

Professors Siva Reddy (Computer Science and Linguistics) and Katelin Schutz (Physics) have been named 2026 Sloan Research Fellows.听

They are among the 126 early-career researchers in this year鈥檚 cohort of the prestigious two-year, $75,000 fellowship sponsored by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. Fellows are nominated by their colleagues and evaluated based on their research accomplishments, creativity and potential to become leaders in their fields.

鈥淚 am truly honored to receive the Sloan Fellowship," Reddy said. 鈥淚t is an excellent recognition of my group's work in pushing fundamental ideas in natural language processing and machine learning. Our contributions have not only advanced the abilities of large language models but have also made them safer. As these models become more agentic, we continue to work toward making them even safer, more transparent, and more efficient. I am grateful to my colleagues at 成人VR视频, Mila, and ServiceNow for fostering an intellectually stimulating environment and providing the resources needed to succeed.鈥

滨鈥檓 deeply honoured to receive this recognition and grateful for the affirmation that curiosity-driven science is worth supporting,鈥 said Schutz. 鈥淚 feel fortunate to work in a field where we challenge assumptions and collaborate across disciplines to explore some of the most profound questions about our Universe. This research is truly a collaborative effort. 滨鈥檓 especially grateful to the students and postdocs in my group, whose creativity and dedication push our work in new and exciting directions every day.鈥
