Over 200 students and 400 guests, as well as Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences leadership and Osler Fellows, who help the students they are mentoring into their white coats on stage, were in attendance. </p> Tue, 14 Nov 2023 19:58:03 +0000 Iris Boudier 707 at /schoolofmedicine /schoolofmedicine/article/living-between-two-worlds <p><strong><em>Med student Madeline Yaaka on track to become first Inuk physician from Nunavik</em></strong></p> <p>Madeline Yaaka made history when she entered ����VR��Ƶ’s MDCM program last month. An Inuk hailing from Kangiqsujuaq, in Nunavik, northern Quebec, she was already her community’s first university grad (graduating last spring with a BSc in Biology from ����VR��Ƶ) and is now the region’s first medical student.
