2026 Faculty of Science Excellence Award winners announced

Ann Jack (Clerical), Diti Anastasopoulos (Management), and Maxime Leroux (Technical) have been named recipients of the Faculty of Science Excellence Awards.听听

These awards, announced at the Faculty of Science Council meeting on May 20th, recognize the outstanding contributions made by members of the Faculty鈥檚 administrative and support staff during the 2025-2026 academic year.听听

Ann Jack, School of Computer Science, Faculty of Science Excellence Award for Clerical Staff

Ann Jack has provided outstanding administrative support to students, faculty, and colleagues in the School of Computer Science for 36 years. Her deep institutional knowledge and genuine care have helped graduate students navigate the thickets of bureaucracy, including dealing with admissions, funding, exams, defenses, visas, etc. Ann consistently solves complex problems, mentors colleagues, improves processes, and supports students through critical academic milestones. Her dedication, compassion, and quiet leadership set an example for excellence at 成人VR视频 and make her truly deserving recognition.

Diti Anastasopoulos, School of Computer Science, Faculty of Science Excellence Award for Management Staff听听

With over 24 years of service at 成人VR视频, Diti Anastasopoulos has demonstrated outstanding leadership and dedication to student success. As Student Advising Supervisor in the School of Computer Science, she supports thousands of students, supervises staff, and strengthens academic operations with care and precision. During major staffing transitions and a complex graduate funding crisis, Diti ensured continuity and protected students from negative impacts. Her institutional knowledge, empathy, and leadership make her an invaluable member of our community and highly deserving of recognition.

Maxime Leroux, Department of Biology, Faculty of Science Excellence Award for Technical Staff听听

Dr. Maxime Leroux is Lab Coordinator for BIOL 301, which has about 200 students per term. In this course, Maxime coordinates instructors, lab staff, and teaching assistants with exceptional skill. His technical expertise, organization, and calm problem-solving have strengthened the delivery of the course. Especially during disruptions, such as strikes and cancellations. Maxime consistently improves laboratory protocols and workflows, which ensures that students receive a high-quality learning experience every year. This professionalism, initiative and collaboration, have made Maxime an invaluable member of the Biology Department and highly deserving of recognition.
