Celebrating 400 years of astronomy

The United Nations has proclaimed 2009 the International Year of Astronomy (IYA2009) in commemoration of the first astronomical use of the telescope in 1609. This started a scientific revolution which radically altered our view of the world. To this date telescopes on earth, and now in space, continue to explore the universe.

In the third annual Mini-Science, each Wednesday evening from April 1 – May 13, 2009 top scientific minds gave lectures that enlightened, entertained and demystified cutting-edge research on Space, Stars, and the Universe. This unique public lecture series brought people together with experts in the field of science and related disciplines at ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ to learn the latest in space exploration.
