Current research:
Dr McFarland is an associate professor at the Universit茅 de Montr茅al. His research focuses on neurophysiological bases of speech and swallowing function. Current projects include: investigations of conversational interaction and interpersonal synchrony; descriptions of respiratory system activity for speech; analyses of speech produced under conditions of oral-articulatory perturbations, and explorations of physiological aspects of normal and disordered swallowing.
