Current research:

I am interested in the neural mechanisms underlying the perception and processing of vocal communication. I am currently studying our capacity to induce empathy in others by complaining and conveying emotions with our tone of voice, and how this can be modulated by different socio-cultural contexts. To do so, I use electroencephalography (EEG) and functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) techniques to investigate brain activity during complaint-induced empathy. My goal is to help disentangle the different affective and cognitive mechanisms at play in our brain and our environment when we experience empathy in social interactions.
