My current research focuses on 1) identification of grammatical problems in bi/monolingual children with language impairment cross-linguistically and 2) investigation of diagnostic accuracy and procedures used to identify language impairment in these groups. One of my current projects examines the role of the language exposure in the grammatical and lexical development of French-Turkish and English-Turkish bilingual children with and without specific language impairment(SLI) and comparing these groups with French-English speaking bilinguals. In a second project, my efforts are directed towards investigating the assessment tools and methods that are used in the diagnosis of bilingual children with language impairment and to apply machine learning techniques in the prediction of language impairment in this group.
