In October 2019, Ingram School of Nursing faculty Lia Sanzone, Rosetta Antonacci, and Amanda Cervantes presented the workshop Incorporating A Strengths Based Nursing Approach to Care into Nursing Clinical preparation Course at the International Conference on Communication in Healthcare in San Diego.
In 2015, The Ingram School of Nursing (ISoN) at 成人VR视频 adopted Strengths-Based Nursing (Gottlieb, 2012) as its philosophy for clinical care, education and research.
Building off of their experience at the ISoN, the workshop presented by Sanzone, Antonacci, and Cervantes suggested ways to introduce the Strengths-Based Nursing approach into clinical preparation courses for entry to practice nursing students and compared and contrasted the SBN approach with traditional approaches which are usually deficit focused.
Specific learning objectives were to introduce the Strengths-Based Nursing approach to care and its impact on nursing practice, to examine the relevance of SBN in entry to practice nursing education, and to examine how participants can incorporate the聽SBN聽approach into their clinical preparation courses.
