Overview

Sociology (Arts) : The social determinants and consequences of religious commitment. Beliefs and practices in cross-cultural perspective. Classical theories of the social functions of religion including those of Marx, Weber and Durkheim. Religion and social class in modern society. Functional alternatives to religion.
