Overview

Asian Language & Literature : This course examines the industrial, stylistic, and sociopolitical interactions between Chinese cinema and Hollywood from 1927 to the present. We study the historical and contemporary negotiations between Chinese and Hollywood studios and independents in areas such as representation, stylistic borrowings, marketing, financing, outsourcing, branding, coproduction, and mutual interference.

Terms: This course is not scheduled for the 2016-2017 academic year.
