Dr. Tufenkji's research program is at the interface of several disciplines including nanotechnology, microbiology, molecular biology, and colloid chemistry. Research in her laboratory focuses on the fundamental aspects of cell, microbe, and biomolecule attachment to surfaces of environmental or biomedical interest.
