Developing critical literacy with young children around climate change, forced migration and the built environment
Education for environmental justice must begin early, as children are disproportionately affected by issues of climate change and forced displacement. However, questions of architecture are often overlooked in children鈥檚 education despite the fact that the built environment is an indirect contributor to climate change, and architects can develop visions to mitigate these effects on vulnerable populations. ARCHITECTURE PLAYSHOP is a creative workshop for children and seeks to learn from children while simultaneously building their awareness and planting seeds of future action they might one day implement as adults.

ARCHITECTURE PLAYSHOP originated as an invitation to Dr. T眉reli to contribute to 鈥,鈥 a program of events, curated by architect Haewon Shin for the Korean Pavilion at the 2020 Venice Biennale. The content was developed through team-based research and collective creative input.
