Economics Internship Course (ECON 399)
The Arts Internship course allow students to gain experience in areas relevant to their field of study; allowing students who pursue approved internships to gain up to 3 credits towards their degrees. Arts internships involve a minimum of 150 hours of work, normally over a period of 8-12 weeks in a host institution approved by the Arts Internship Office.听
Eligibility Requirements
The Economics Internship course ECON 399 in only open to U2 and U3 students in good standing, normally after completion of at least 30 credits of a 90 credit program or 45 credits of a 96 to 120 credit program. A minimum CGPA of 3.0 is required. Requirement details can be found on the Economics Department Course List (ECON 399).
ECON 399 will not fulfill Economics program requirements: it will not be counted towards the Economics honours, majors or minors programs.
This Internship will normally only be approved for work during the summer (between May 1 to August 30). The student must arrange in advance with a faculty member in the Economics Department to accept the supervisory and grading responsibilities.
Steps to Getting Approval for Internship Credit
To obtain approval for the Internship and ECON 399, the steps the student must follow are:

Once the internship position has been confirmed, follow the steps聽listed on the AIO website (Steps to Getting Approval for Internship Credit).听
All steps should be completed well in advance of the start of your internship. No approval will be granted after you have started your internship. - Prior to the summer Internship, arrange with a faculty member in the Economics Department who is willing to accept the supervisory and grading responsibilities
- Submit the completed Form to be signed before the beginning of the internship to the Economics Department
- Register for ECON 399 for the fall term on Minerva
- After the completion of the Internship, submit to the Arts Internship Office a letter from the employer/supervisor at the host organization attesting to the satisfactory completion of the Internship, with a copy to your Departmental Supervisor.
- Complete the required term paper prior to the end of classes for the fall term,
- Ensure that a grade is submitted by the supervisor by the appropriate deadline (one week after the end of classes for the fall term) on MINERVA.
Evaluation
A grade for the internship will be assigned by the academic supervisor, based on the agreement initially made between the student and the academic supervisor.
NOTES: It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that the above steps are followed and that an explicit arrangement is made with the 成人VR视频 supervisor for the grading and submission of the grade on MINERVA by the appropriate deadline (one week after the end of classes for the fall term). If a grade is not submitted by this deadline and the student has not already withdrawn from the course, the grade will become J (incomplete), which constitutes a failure in the course on the student's transcript.
The Administrative Officer will keep a record of the completed Economics Internship Approval Form and the letter from the employer/supervisor at the host organization attesting to the satisfactory completion of the Internship.
