The Department’s 30 full-time members are complemented by another 25 adjunct and associate members. Research in the Department covers all aspects of biochemistry and molecular biology, from molecules to cells, from animal models to human diseases. World Class Facilities
Biochemistry graduate students have the opportunity to work in some of Canada’s newest and most well-equipped academic research facilities. Most of our faculty members are in theÌý³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ Life Sciences Complex and the McIntyre Medical Sciences Building, with large, open-plan research labs and state-of-the-art equipment.

Stimulating Programs
Graduate studies in Biochemistry is research-intensive. You will take courses in core areas and in your specialty, but most of your activity will take place in the laboratory, where you will be part of our vibrant, world-class research community. Our streamlined graduate program means you can enter the Master's Program but, assuming you meet the academic criteria, transfer to theÌý¶Ù´Ç³¦³Ù´Ç°ù²¹±ôÌýprogram after your first year.
Financial Support
The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences has a Harmonized Stipend Policy to ensure that every graduate student in the Faculty will be paid an adequate stipend.
Student stipends may come from a) the supervisor, b) studentships or fellowships, or c) a foreign government body that awards a scholarship for study abroad. The Department does not accept self-funded students.
- compensate our Canadian M.Sc. students from outside Quebec for the difference in tuition fees with Quebec-resident students
- assist all of our international graduate students with their tuition fees
