The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce that Professor Johanne Poirier (BCL鈥�91, LLB鈥�91) received the 2019 John W. Durnford Teaching Excellence Award at the Law Convocation ceremony on May 30, 2019. Professor Colleen Sheppard presented her. This award 鈥� named in honour of the late emeritus professor and former dean John W. Durnford (BCL鈥�52) 鈥� annually recognizes the exceptional pedagogy of a law professor selected by students via the Law Students鈥� Association.

From April 1- 30 (April 19-22 Easter long weekend excluded) 成人VR视频 students will be able to access the Nahum Gelber Law Library 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As agreed between the Students' Society of 成人VR视频 (SSMU) and the Law Students Association (LSA), the Nahum Gelber Law Library will limit access to the three upper floors of the library to Law students only during the April 15 to April 30 examination period. The Faculty of Law is pleased to share that Professor Andrea K. Bjorklund has been elected a vice-president of the governing Executive Council of the American Society of International Law () at the organization鈥檚 113th annual meeting in Washington D.C. on March 27. Upon sharing the news, the ASIL highlighted Professor Bjorklund鈥檚 active involvement in the leadership of the ASIL dating back a number of years.

On March 25, 2019, the Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism of 成人VR视频 was pleased to award German-Turkish journalist and producer Deniz Y眉cel the Robert S. Litvack Award, who accepted it on behalf of all threatened and silenced Turkish voices. The award was presented to Mr. Y眉cel by Gabriela Siegel and Sylvia Litvack, respectively grand-daughter and widow of Robert Litvack.

The Faculty of Law鈥檚 Sustainability Committee is a new entity, created in response to student demand, building on impressive groundwork by members of a student-led committee. The committee fosters sustainability initiatives at the Faculty, and promotes the Faculty鈥檚 engagement in sustainability at 成人VR视频. We work closely with the 成人VR视频 Office of Sustainability.
Our objective for our first year in existence is to design and implement a green strategy for the Faculty.
