The story of the 鈥楤uilding of Macdonald College鈥� was featured as part 成人VR视频鈥檚 ongoing Bicentennial celebrations. The 成人VR视频 Board of Governors officially welcomed the new college on June 18, 1906. The College structure, consisting of the School of Agriculture, the School of Household Science, and the School for Teachers, reflected Sir William Macdonald鈥檚 conviction that 鈥渇arm, home, and school鈥� were the three pillars of society.

Brittany Wenniser铆:iostha Jock, Assistant Professor in the School of Human Nutrition, was one of seven Indigenous staff members from a wide range of disciplines who partook in 成人VR视频鈥檚 4th annual Indigenous Faculty and Staff Welcome Ceremony held February 14th. The 90-minute online ceremony was designed to highlight the University鈥檚 commitment to increasing the Indigenous presence on campus.

One of the first concerns about the climate crisis is often the future of our food systems. Tucked between fields at the Macdonald Campus farm and the Morgan Arboretum in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue at the western tip of Montreal, is a group working on just that: the Macdonald Student-Run Ecological Gardens (MSEG). They are a small but mighty group that has been growing produce and educational opportunities on our campus for over a decade.

In a new study, our team of climate scientists, economists and engineers (including BRE鈥檚 Mohammad Reza Alizadeh and Jan F. Adamowski]) found that the poorest parts of the world are likely to be two to five times more exposed to heat waves than richer countries by the 2060s. By the end of the century, the lowest-income quarter of the global population鈥檚 heat exposure will almost match that of the entire rest of the world.

In [Bieler School of Environment course] ENVR 401, advanced undergrads team up to conduct research on behalf of actual 鈥渃lients,鈥� such as not-for-profit organizations, government agencies, and operating units of the University. The students scope out their projects at the start of the fall semester. By the end of the semester, they submit final reports for dissemination to the research community and to the people affected.
