The Arctic is warming at approximately twice the global rate. A new study led by researchers from 成人VR视频 finds that cold-adapted Arctic species, like the thick-billed murre, are especially vulnerable to heat stress caused by climate change.
鈥淲e discovered that murres have the lowest cooling efficiency ever reported in birds, which means they have an extremely poor ability to dissipate or lose heat,鈥 says lead author Emily Choy, a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Natural Resource Sciences Department at 成人VR视频.
Today Genome Quebec announced the results of its Genomic Integration Program, Human Health Stream competition. Five 成人VR视频 teams from a diverse array of fields were awarded funds, totaling nearly $1 million. One of the defining features of this program is the requirement that institutional applicants must also have an external non-academic partner, thus supporting program goals of stimulating the Quebec economy and encouraging the use of genomic technologies in the Quebec healthcare system.
