Congratulations to Prof. Marcelo Wanderley on his accomplishment as the most cited author over the entire lifetime of the New Interfaces in Musical Expressions (NIME) conference. With students and colleagues, he has co-authored 48 NIME papers presented at 17 conferences which had a total of 1,391 citations over 20 years [Fasciani & Goode, 2021. p. 24]. In addition, Wanderley has also co-authored the first- and third-most-cited听articles in the history of NIME.

The听109th听edition of the听prestigious听Concours Prix听d鈥橢urope听took place听June 6 鈥 11, 2021听at the听Chapelle听historique听du Bon-Pasteur听in Montreal, bringing together top musical talent.听The听jury was comprised of renowned artists soprano Marie-Danielle Parent (Prix听d鈥橢urope听1980), cellist Carole Sirois, musicologist and oboist Michel Duchesneau, pianist Michel Franck (Prix听d鈥橢urope听1977), and orchestral and choral conductor听Louis Lavigueur, C.Q..

As Teaching Assistant for听MUAR 392 (Popular Music after 1945), Max听showed an听eagerness to support the instructor and听students in whatever way. he could. Whether it be听by听assisting in the 鈥渓ive鈥 classroom by monitoring the chat, responding directly to students, reading their听questions/comments out loud, or participating in classroom dialogue, it was clear that he was there to help.听听

Throughout the past year听teaching听MUAR 392 (Popular Music after 1945) 鈥 her third time leading the course 鈥斕齁ennifer has听proven to be an engaging and knowledgeable instructor with a commitment to and command of the material.听Though students are immersed in popular culture on a听daily basis, she strives to help them make sense听of the听vast amount of听popular music听accessible at their fingertips.听

A dedicated educator in the Jazz Area since 2004,听saxophonist听Donny听has been the small ensemble coordinator since he started,听organizing 20-25听combos annually, as well as teaching Jazz Arranging. Students remark on his leadership, experience, and understanding in fulfilling his responsibilities for听a host of undergraduate and graduate courses as well as for the design听and development of听the curriculum听for听music education or performance majors.

The Toronto Mendelssohn Choir听is one of Canada鈥檚 oldest, largest, and best-known choral ensembles. Founded in 1894 by Augustus Vogt, the Choir presented its first concert in Massey Hall, as part of the hall鈥檚 inaugural season, on January 15, 1895.
MusicFest Canada began in 1972 with a handful of Canadian musicians who created the country鈥檚 first jazz band festival. Now, in its 49th year, this small group has grown to embrace 4 Festival Divisions, the original Canadian Stage Band Festival Jazz Division, the Choral/Vocal Jazz听Division(1981) the Concert Band Division (1986) and the Orchestra/String Division (2008).听听MusicFest听Canada听鈥 鈥淭he Nationals鈥澨斕齜rings thousands of students and educators from across the country together, over a one-week period, to celebrate excellence in musical performance.听听
