Applicants to the DMD Advanced Standing for Foreign Trained Dentists Pathway are required to submit proof of Quebec residency, Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency of Canada.
Residency documents are reviewed by the ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ Office, who will make a determination of Residency based on the validity of the documents submitted. The final document should be in a single PDF file to upload to the Proof of Citizenship/Perm Res (POCR) item on your Dentistry application checklist via your Slate account.
Note: Residency for tuition fee purposes is reviewed separately by Enrolment Services and is established based on the admitted student’s residency situation as of the start of classes.

Quebec Residents

To be considered a Quebec resident, you must meet all the criteria of one of the 14 situations outlined by the Quebec Government. You will need to demonstrate how your Quebec Residency was established from the start. Thereby, situations #2, 3 and 14 cannot be used to prove Quebec Residency for the purpose of admission.
IMPORTANT ► Québec residency status must be fully established (not provisionally) by the application deadline for all those applying to the DMD program. Changes of citizenship or residency after the application deadline will not be considered.
NOTE: If you were born in Quebec, you are automatically considered a resident of Quebec. You will, however, still need to provide a copy of your birth certificate or one of the documents listed on this page.

6. Proof of Proficiency in English (if applicable)
To determine if you need to provide proof of English proficiency, please visit this section of our website and select 'Prospective Undergraduate Students English Language Proficiency'. Your test results must be sent directly to ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ (not to the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences) by the test centre in an electronic format. Consequently, candidates' paper copies of results will not be accepted as proof of English language proficiency. It is your responsibility to ensure that the official test results in an official format are forwarded directly by the testing service to ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ.
The English Proficiency Test results are uploaded on a specific weekly sequence. It can sometimes take up to 7 business days for the results to be uploaded to the students’ account once received

9. Immunization and vaccination records
After you have been accepted to our DMD Advanced Standing for Foreign Trained Dentists Pathway, you must complete the requirements of the Compulsory Immunization Program. Depending on the immunizations that you have already received and the availability of your vaccination records, completing ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ's immunization program may take from six to eight months. Not being fully immunized will prevent you from participating in mandatory clinical activities and may impact your candidacy. Therefore, we highly recommend to be fully immunized upon the application deadline.ÌýPlease send us a copy of your immunization record by email before the deadline. The Immunization Form for Students in Health Care Programs is found on the Student Wellness Hub's website under the 'Immunization Reviews' tab. Vaccinations may be completed by your family physician or a health care provider.ÌýPlease do not send your immunizations to the Student Wellness Hub until after you have been accepted.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We will accept incomplete vaccination status by the application deadline. However, accepted candidates would need to be within 3-4 months from completing the vaccination program when accepting the offer to keep their seat in the DMD program. It is required to provide proof of childhood vaccination for Tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis. If you cannot provide these records, you will need to restart the whole series which can take up to 8 months (and would disqualify you for admission to the Winter 2025 cycle). A booster is unfortunately not sufficient.
Although not required when submitting an application, candidates who will receive an offer of admission will need to provide proof of certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), level C or C+, and automated external defibrillation (AED) training. Certification must be granted, or fully recognised, by one of the following organisations: the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Quebec Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Red Cross, St. John Ambulance, the American Heart Association, or the American Red Cross. This document will be required by November 30th of the year in which you are commencing undergraduate dental education.
