Note that the first ESYS core course is during the winter term (ESYS 200). The Fall term can be used to complete the foundational science courses if you haven't done so in CEGEP (Calc I & II, Linear Algebra, 2 terms of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, etc.). You can also take 200-level courses that lead into the ESYS courses, such as ENVR 200 or GEOG 203.
Math is an essential tool and, like a language, fades if not used. It is encouraged to take Calc 3 as soon as possible (MATH 222). Computer programming is also an essential skill (COMP 208 or COMP 202), as is statistics (MATH 203).
There are also intro courses in the individual disciplines: ATOC 214 or EPSC 210 or EPSC 220 that can be taken in the fall term.
