I am so proud and excited to begin my term as your Dean (as of June 1, 2024). In this first message, I wanted to share with you my vision for our Faculty and tell you a bit about my background.

Dr. Kristy A. Robinson, ECP, Honoured with CPA President鈥檚 New Researcher Award
Dr. Kristy A. Robinson, Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, has received the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) President鈥檚 New Researcher Award.
She will accept the award at this year's CPA convention in Ottawa (June 21-23), where she will also deliver an invited talk on her work.
This award recognizes the exceptional quality of her contributions to psychological knowledge in Canada as an early career researcher.

Dr. Tina Montreuil, ECP, Invited to Provide Expert Testimony to the House of Commons
Dr. Tina Montreuil, ECP, has been recognized by the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health as one of Canada鈥檚听Difference Makers.
This honour led to Dr. Montreuil鈥檚 selection as an expert witness, invited to present before Canada鈥檚 parliament on April 8, 2024.
Appointment of a New Education Dean

Kristy A. Robinson, ECP, Honoured for Significant Early Career Contributions to Research on Motivation and Learning
Kristy A. Robinson, Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, received two awards at this year's meeting of the American Educational Research Association (AERA).
From the AERA Motivation in Education Special Interest Group, she received the Wilbert C. McKeachie Early Career Award for Motivation in Education Research, and from AERA Division C (Learning and Instruction), she received the Outstanding Early Career Scholar Award.

Victoria Talwar, ECP Professor, Faculty of Education Interim Dean, and Lab Director of the Talwar Child Development Research Lab, recently published a paper in Developmental Psychology that investigates the effects of honesty promotion techniques on children of different ages.
