成人VR视频 Faculty of Education Teaching Awards

The Faculty of Education offers two Teaching Awards to recognize excellence and commitment to teaching.

Professor Nancy Heath accepts award from President Deep Saini at Spring Convocation 2023

There is one Nomination Form and one Nominee Acceptance and Dossier Submission Form for both awards. The Faculty鈥檚 Prizes and Awards Committee will review the eligible applicants and select the top two candidates to bestow the awards. The two winners will be matched to each award at the sole discretion of the Prizes and Awards Committee.

These two teaching awards are in recognition of excellence in teaching in one or more of the following areas:

  • Classroom teaching

  • Mentorship and student supervision (e.g. student teachers, student interns, graduate students, etc.)

Award for Distinguished Teaching

The Award for Distinguished Teaching holds prestigious professional significance but is not accompanied by any financial remuneration. The winner is typically presented with a certificate at the Spring Convocation ceremony.

Heather Reisman and Gerald Schwartz Award for Excellence in Teaching

The Heather Reisman and Gerald Schwartz Award for Excellence in Teaching has a total value of $1,000, $500 of which must be used for travel expenses related to research or other scholarly purposes. This award has no associated public event or certificate.

Winners of both Faculty of Education Teaching Awards can expect to be recognized through an internal emailed announcement, a website news channel post, and a post on the Faculty鈥檚 social media platforms. Announcements are embargoed until after Convocation and will be published in conjunction with post-Convocation promotional efforts.

The process is as follows:

  1. A is submitted by the Nomination Deadline.

  2. The nominee is alerted to their nomination via a personalized email from the Dean鈥檚 Office. This email alert will provide each nominee with the Nominee Acceptance and Dossier Submission Form. Each nominee must fill out this form to confirm whether they accept or reject their nomination. Should they accept, the form will allow the nominee to:

    • Further confirm their eligibility

    • Provide answers to award questions

    • Upload compiled supporting documents

    • Submit a complete dossier by the Dossier Submission Deadline

Please note that award applications are only considered complete once the nominee has filled out all the required fields in the Nominee Acceptance and Dossier Submission Form and after they have pressed 鈥淪ubmit鈥 at the end of the form. Dossiers that have been saved in draft format will not be accepted as late submissions beyond the Dossier Submission Deadline.

  3. Winners will be alerted via email once the Prizes and Awards Committee render their scores and final decisions.

(Nominees will be alerted to their nomination after nomination submissions close and will be prompted as to how to submit their application/dossier materials.)

Submission Requirements

  1. Only one nomination will be accepted per academic. If multiple nomination forms are received, the duplicates will be discarded.
  2. Nominees must gather all required supporting documents themselves to submit their complete application by the deadline (via the Nominee Acceptance and Dossier Submission Form). 4. Supporting documents that make up the dossier must respect the page limits indicated and must conform to the following formatting:
    • Only PDF documents will be able to be uploaded in the form

Overview of Supporting Documents

Letters should discuss the nominee鈥檚 ability to engage students, dedication to teaching/supervision, impact on student learning/growth through teaching/research, and educational leadership (where applicable). A student cannot write a letter for a professor who is currently teaching or supervising them due to conflict of interest.

The statement should also include a description of how the nominee's thinking about teaching and learning has changed over time, and how they work to improve their teaching. Educational leadership and/or mentorship experience may also be discussed along with meaningful teaching/supervision initiatives/activities conducted both in and outside classroom settings.
  3. Student course evaluations. There is no page maximum and no formatting parameters for these supporting documents other than being compiled into a single PDF for upload. Course evaluations should be directly downloaded from 成人VR视频鈥檚 Mercury software system. Submitted evaluations must not date further back than the previous three (3) academic years.
  4. Optional: Supporting Links.
