What is the McBurney Fellowship?
The McBurney Fellowship funds exceptional 成人VR视频 students to work on projects that improve the health and social conditions faced by poor and marginalised populations around the world. Over the summer, McBurney Fellows work on research or service-based projects at community organizations that are either local to Montreal, national, or international. All Fellows have designated supervisors within their host organization and receive a stipend for their participation. Additional funding is provided for placements in Canada outside of Montreal and international placements.

*Supervisors and Fellows can make slight variations to these dates as long as they are approved by the Student Affairs Administrator.
Who can apply?
- Candidates must be registered in a 成人VR视频 degree program when they submit their application.
- Students who will be returning in Fall 2025聽can apply.
- Students who will be graduating at the end of the Winter 2025聽semester can apply.
- Students who are taking summer courses in Summer 2025聽cannot apply, as they will not have the time required to dedicate to the program.
- Students from all disciplines are welcome to apply.
- McBurney Fellows demonstrate a strong interest in dedicating their time to the improvement of health and social conditions of marginalised populations.
What do McBurney Fellows do?
- Work 35 hours per week on your assigned research or service project under the supervision of your host organization.
- Develop a work plan in collaboration with your supervisor outlining the activities and contributions for your project.
- Attend monthly cohort meetings to discuss project progress and learn about the other host organizations and projects.
- Give a final presentation about your project.
What do McBurney Fellows receive?
- Stipend of up to $7,500. The stipend will be disbursed in instalments over the course of the program, and the amount is commensurate with the hours and deliverables associated with the project.
- Hands-on research or service experience with聽a community organization.
- Several opportunities to practice public speaking, presenting, and networking: cohort meetings, final presentations, poster presentations, etc.
- Robust development of your professional network through work with your host organization, talks by supervisors from other host organizations, cohort meetings, and invitations to seminars and events at the School of Population and Global Health.
- Opportunity to participate in the poster session at the Department of Equity, Ethics and Policy Annual Conference.
