Wetlands-Advanced

Geography: A review of the classification, ecosystem services, and biophysical aspects of wetlands: soils, hydrology, and adaptations of biota with an emphasis on ecological biogeography. Includes major ecological processes that occur in wetlands and the environmental factors that control the structure and function of wetland systems. Techniques for studying plant communities are emphasized and applied to 3 different types of wetlands through field and laboratory work.

A fee of $165.00 is charged to all students registered in GEOG 670. The fee will be used to support the cost of transportation (van rental, parking, and gas) additional cost for accommodations and food will be the students responsibility. The trip is required and will give students an opportunity to conduct field study in at least 3 different types of wetlands.
