It can be challenging to find time between school and all your other obligations to take a moment to take care of yourself. The resources below aim help you achieve wellness in the different aspects of your life, or discover ways you can find balance.

  • ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ's Student Wellness Hub is your one-stop shop for all of your emotional, physical, mental, and wellness-related needs. If you are unsure what sort of care you need, you can book an appointment with an Access Advisor, who will guide you towards the right resources. Because of the pandemic, the Student Wellness Hub is currently offering limited in-person appointments on Mondays and Thursdays. You will first need complete a virtual appointment to come in person (there are no drop-ins). Call 514-398-6017 for more information, or visit mcgill.ca/wellness-hub/.
  • Shrabani Debroy (shrabani.debroy [at] mcgill.ca or 514-398-3424) and Heleen Loohuis (heleen.loohuis [at] mcgill.ca) are the Faculty of Law's Local Wellness Advisors (LWAs). They offer wellness-related programming, and provide one-on-one, single-session consultations to Law students. Book an appointment with Shrabani or Heleen when you need it!

³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ Law Peer2Peer

Peer2Peer is a peer support service by and for ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ Law students. Trained peer supporters are available to meet with students looking for someone to talk to about their mental health or wellbeing who understands the challenges students can face when pursuing a law degree at ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ. All meetings are confidential and you can request to meet with a peer by emailing law.peer2peer [at] gmail.com.

³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ Students’ Nightline (514-398-6246) is a confidential, anonymous and non-judgmental listening service, run by ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ students, providing the community with a variety of support. This includes anything from information to crisis management and referrals.

Why contact them? They are:

  • An information and referral service
  • An active listening service
  • Trained extensively in crisis management

Open 7 days a week, 6pm-3am during the Fall and Winter semesters.

Sexual Assault Centre of the ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ Students’ Society

The (SACOMSS) is a volunteer-run organization committed to supporting survivors of sexual assault and their allies through direct support, advocacy, and outreach.

Their services include Drop-In and Line (DIAL), Support Groups, Advocacy, and Outreach. Additionally, they offer sexual assault sensitivity training to ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ and Montreal groups, provide information and referrals, and organize events to raise awareness about sexual assault.

CBA: Mental Health and Wellness in the Legal Profession

The Canadian Bar Association has developed , an online educational program that gives law students, lawyers and judges information about mental health and addiction issues, their causes and symptoms, as well as prevention and treatment options.

Religious and Spiritual Life

³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ's Office of Religious and Spiritual Life (MORSL) offers various spiritual, interfaith, and wellness-related programs to enhance your campus experience. They hire several Work Study students each semester and have tons of volunteer opportunities as well.

offers a multitude of ways to get physically active! Consider joining a varsity sports teams (football, soccer, basketball, ice hockey, swimming, etc.) or enjoying some recreational exercise activities (dance, aquatics, yoga, pilates, spin, etc.).

The offers two free classes each week to ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ Law students here at the Faculty.

Every undergraduate student at ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ is a member of the Students' Society of ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ (SSMU). SSMU is the central undergraduate student union and speak out for their constituents and advocate for their interests. They also provide countless opportunities for students through their clubs, services, committees, and volunteer and employment opportunities.

SKILLS21

SKILLS21 is an skills development program for ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ undergraduate students. Providing workshops offered by a wide range of ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵÌýunits, SKILLS21 will help you gain the skills you need to reach your full potential at ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ and beyond!

By participating in SKILLS21, you can:

  • Gain the skills you need to help you achieve academic, career, and personal success.
  • Build connections with your fellow students, staff, and faculty.
  • Track your progress in your skill-building journey onÌý.
  • Demonstrate your participation, as workshop attendance and stream completion are recognized on yourÌýco-curricular record.
