An between the French and Quebec governments allows French citizens registered full-time in a program to be exempted from the international tuition fee supplement.

IMPORTANT: ALL required documentation must be received in order for the relevant exemption to be applied.听Exemptions remain active and valid听only as long as all mandatory supporting documents are valid. The moment any听single听supporting document expires, the exemption also ends. In order to be exempted for the semester, the expiry date of the documents听must be听equal to or greater than the end date of the semester. Removal of an exemption means a return to听international tuition fee status.

Documents required:

a) French citizens without Canadian legal status:

  1. Valid French passport
  2. Valid Study permit
  3. Valid CAQ

b) French citizens with Canadian legal status:

  1. Valid French passport
  2. Proof of Canadian status. Please refer to the instructions for Canadians.

IMPORTANT NOTE to new students: Student Accounts automatically applies a fee deferral to your profile in early August. If your legal status has not yet been updated, please pay the Total Balance MINUS the fee deferral amount by the fee payment deadline.

Fee rates (students without Canadian legal status):

  1. Undergraduate program听students will be charged the Canadian rate of tuition.
  2. Graduate program students (including students in a Qualifying year) will be charged the Quebec rate of tuition.

    Note regarding self-funded programs: ALL students - regardless of legal status - are charged the same rate of tuition fees. Fee exemptions are therefore not applicable to these specific programs. Please refer to .
