Career Planning Advice

Appointment Information

Access to Career Planning Services: Our Career Planning Services are exclusively for currently enrolled students in the MDCM program.ÌýPlease seeÌýAccess to ServicesÌýto see the availability of Office of Medical Learner Affairs services for all UGME students.

Maximum Number of Appointments: Students can book up to three (3) career planning appointments per academic year, covering the following services:

  • Career Planning
  • CV & Letter Review (maximum of two documents)
  • Interview Preparation

Our Career Advisors use the same approach and strive to support as many students as possible. To maximize access please refrain from double booking appointments. We recommend taking advantage of group workshops, peer review sessions and our Ìýto complement individual appointments.


How Our Appointments Work

  • Virtual Career Planning: Available 14 days in advance. Appointments are assigned to a UGME Career AdvisorÌýby our booking system. Evening appointments are reserved exclusively for Med 3-4 students.
  • Virtual Follow-up: Available 14 days in advance for students who wantÌýto follow up with a specific Career Advisor. Evening appointments are reserved exclusively for Med 3-4 students.
  • In-Person Career Planning:ÌýAvailable 14 days in advance andÌýbooked with the Career Advisor at your campus.
  • Semi-Urgent Virtual:ÌýAvailable 3 days in advance for quick questionsÌýthat do not require a full appointment. These appointments are not included in the maximum number of appointments per year.


Appointment Cancellation:ÌýA minimum of 24 hours’ notice is appreciated for cancellations whenever possible.
