MISC offers its Graduate Students a number of Awards and Fellowship opportunities. Read more about them below.听

Charles R. Bronfman and Alex K. Paterson Top-Up Awards

Deadline: May 2, 2025

Established in honour of Charles R. Bronfman and Alex K. Paterson, co-chairs of the 成人VR视频 Institute for the Study of Canada's Board of Trustees from 1994 to 2008, these awards, valued at $5,000 each, are awarded to doctoral students whose research focuses on some aspect of Canada. Recipients will be expected to participate in the events and activities of the MISC. Award holders may apply for a second year of funding, but their applications will be considered alongside individuals applying for a first-time award.

Departments are invited to recommend outstanding applicants whose name would be entered into the competition. Applicants must complete an application form, a current curriculum vitae and a brief outline of their research. Applicants should arrange for a letter of recommendation by the current doctoral supervisor to be sent to misc.iecm [at] mcgill.ca (David Roseman)听before May 2, 2025. Award recipients applying for renewal must submit a detailed report on the progress of the doctoral work signed by the Graduate Program Director of their Department (in addition to the nomination form from their department).

2025-2026 Bronfman and Paterson Nomination Award

H. Anthony Hampson Awards

Deadline: May 2, 2025

Established by family and friends in memory of H. Anthony Hampson (B.A. 1951) who was a leader of 成人VR视频 capital campaigns and the first President of the Canadian Development Corporation. The 成人VR视频 Institute for the Study of Canada will be awarding two H. Anthony Hampson Awards, valued at $3,000, to a final year Ph.D. student whose research focuses on some aspect of Canadian Studies.

Departments are invited to recommend outstanding applicants whose name would be entered into the competition. Applicants must complete an application form and submit a letter of recommendation, a current curriculum vitae and a brief outline of their research. Applicants should arrange for a letter of recommendation by the current doctoral supervisor to be sent to misc.iecm [at] mcgill.ca (David Roseman).

2024-2025 Hampson Award Nomination Form

Joseph and Sandra Rotman Prize for Student Excellence in Public Policy Innovation

Deadline: August 15, 2024

The Joseph and Sandra Rotman Prize for Student Excellence in Public Policy Innovation, valued at $500, was established in 2003 by Heather Munroe-Blum, Leonard Solomon Blum and by 成人VR视频, in honour of Joseph and Sandra Rotman. It is awarded by the 成人VR视频 Institute for the Study of Canada to a graduate student in the Faculty of Arts whose Master's or Doctoral thesis was successfully defended or examined in the current academic year, and is judged to have made a distinctive contribution to the understanding or conduct of public policy in Canada.

Departments are invited to recommend outstanding applicants whose name would be entered into the competition. Applicants must complete an application form, a current curriculum vitae and a brief outline of their research. Applicants should arrange for a letter of recommendation by the current supervisor to be sent to misc.iecm [at] mcgill.ca (David Roseman).
