Less calories but more nutrients;
the nutrition dilemma as we age听

Maureen Rose

Maureen Rose, B.Sc., M.Ed., Ph.D.听

After graduation听from the dietetics program in what is now the School of Human Nutrition, Maureen Rose听worked as a dietitian at the Royal Victoria Hospital, before returning to 成人VR视频 as a Faculty Lecturer and Stage Coordinator听in that same program. While in that position, she continued her studies with an M.Ed., specializing in Adult Education,听and a PhD in Educational Psychology.听

In听her 36 years听of听teaching courses and guiding students through Stage,听Maureen鈥檚听nutrition care experience ranged from infants to older adults,听in听acute and long-term听care听and in听private and public healthcare organizations.听Through听her years of practice and continuing professional education,听she听developed听a particular听expertise听in听nutrition for听chronic diseases, especially in听older adults.听

As we age, we need听less听calories but more nutrients.听The presentation will take a focused approach听to dealing with this dilemma and听eating well in later years, targeting the听most likely concerns听in which nutrition can play an important part.听听听听

Kim Bartlett - My Dance with Parkinson鈥檚

Join us for a heartfelt and inspiring virtual presentation that shares a personal experience of living with Parkinson鈥檚 disease鈥攁nd how movement has become a powerful tool for coping, resilience, and everyday well-being.

Kim Bartlett was diagnosed with Parkinson鈥檚 in 2009. Thanks to dance classes and support from family and friends, she continued working full-time as Director of 成人VR视频 at 成人VR视频 until 2019. Now 鈥渞etired鈥, Kim continues to dance, socialize, study and enjoy her grandkids. She has enjoyed dance since the age of 5. Kim continues to enjoy as participant and president of the non-profit organization, Parkinson en mouvement.

Kim will speak candidly about the realities of Parkinson鈥檚, the challenges faced along the way, and how intentional movement鈥攕uch as exercise, dance, or mindful physical activity鈥攃an support both physical and emotional health. This presentation aims to inform, encourage, and spark meaningful conversation.
