´¡²ú²õ³Ù°ù²¹³¦³Ù:ÌýWhat do our brains and starling murmurations have in common? What happens to the brain's electrophysiological properties under anesthesia? How are large-scale brain dynamics modified by caffeine? How does meditation change neural complexity? Are the brains of people who remember their dreams different from the brains of those who don't? What does the phenomenon of pareidolia tell us about human creativity and its neural underpinnings? More importantly, how am I going to pack all of this into one talk? I will attempt to do this by providing an overview of recent research from our lab where we combine human electrophysiology (MEG and EEG), with advanced signal processing, complexity science and machine learning to explore the distributed neural dynamics underlying a variety of cognitive states and levels of consciousness.

The Feindel Brain and Mind Seminar Series will advance the vision of Dr. William Feindel (1918–2014), Former Director of the Neuro (1972–1984), to constantly bridge the clinical and research realms. The talks will highlight the latest advances and discoveries in neuropsychology, cognitive neuroscience, and neuroimaging.

Speakers will include scientists from across The Neuro, as well as colleagues and collaborators locally and from around the world. The series is intended to provide a virtual forum for scientists and trainees to continue to foster interdisciplinary exchanges on the mechanisms, diagnosis and treatment of brain and cognitive disorders.
