Cassandra Gould VanÌýPraag, PhDÌý

Cassandra Gould vanÌýPraagÌýis Co-Founder and Executive Director of RCM Cooperative. She has a PhD in Neuroscience (2014) and 6Ìýyears experienceÌýbuilding data science communities at the Alan Turing Institute and University of Oxford, with a particular focus on embedding open research practices. With both qualitative and quantitative researchÌýexpertise, she is a skilled analyst,ÌýstrategistÌýand creative problem solver. She aims for maximum transparency and reproducibility in herÌýwork, andÌýprioritisesÌýinclusive and joyful participation. At RCM Cooperative, she is developing Research Community Management training materials, mentoring RCMs, andÌýfacilitatingÌýresearch funding and performingÌýorganisationsÌýthrough professional community management practices. Cass is a contributor to The Turing Way handbook on reproducible,ÌýethicalÌýand collaborative data science, Co-Founder of Open Research Calendar, Co-Chair of the OHBM Open Science Room 2020, and a Fellow of the Software Sustainability InstituteÌý

Abstract:ÌýGit Good: An Introduction to GitHub for CollaborationÌý
In this event, participants will be lead through interactive tutorialsÌýdemonstratingÌýhow GitHub can be used to enable transparent and reproducible collaboration on more than just code. At the end of the workshop, participants will have collaborated on some materials hosted by TheÌýTuring Way, andÌýbe set up for success for use of this versatile tool across all their activities.Ìý
