OMFS residents order, view, and interpret CT scans on a daily basis throughout their residency. Whether it be viewing a CT Facial Bones scan for a trauma patient, or working up a dental implant case from a CBCT, the appropriate knowledge and approach to interpreting CT scans can mean the difference between timely urgent care and delayed diagnosis.
Unfortunately, educational resources on how to interpret CT scans of the face is scarce, and residents often rely on their peers or self-learning to develop this skill.
CTRead is an online, free, web-based program focused on bridging this gap. The course educates residents in the interpretation of CT Facial Bones scans specifically for trauma patients. Created by residents for residents, it is a logical, step-wise progression through learning and identifying mandible, maxilla, nasal bone, ZMC, orbital, and frontal sinus fractures.
CTRead was developed at 成人VR视频 and has been used by junior residents across the globe to assist them in their training. The course can be found at
