Adam Smith tercentenary

The year 2023 marked the 300th anniversary of Adam Smith's birth.

RGCS Lecture: Ryan Griffiths, "Adam Smith's 'Coarse Clay' Political Realism", September 14, 2023The University of Glasgow led a year of academic events in honour of it. RGCS was a partner in those activities.

Summer 2023

Two undergraduate members of the RGCS Student Fellowship,听Amelia Lang听and听Natalie Pennisi,听took part in the University of Glasgow's "Age and ideas of Adam Smith" summer school in June-July 2023.

RGCS Student Fellow and MA student听Shal Marriott听presented a paper at the 2023 meeting of the International Adam Smith Society at the University of St. Andrews marking the 300th anniversary of Smith's birth, 鈥淭he Dramatic Scottish Enlightenment: The Influence of Racine on Hume and Smith.鈥

Ryan Griffiths and RGCS faculty member Jacob Levy presented papers at the academic workshops of the Adam Smith Tercentenary at the University of Glasgow in June 2023.
