Honours Program

Exceptionally for Fall 2020 and Winter 2021 terms only

The S/U option and the Honours program

As you might know, 成人VR视频 is permitting an S/U option for students for Fall 2020 and Winter 2021 terms.聽 Six additional credits may be used between the Fall 2020 and Winter 2021 terms.

Please be advised that this does not, in any way, affect GPA requirements for the Honours program. As before, students must maintain a GPA of 3.50 (effective: Winter 2020) in their program courses and, according to Faculty regulations, a minimum CGPA of 3.00 in general.


Students may register for the Honours Program in Sociology at the beginning of their SECOND year (U2).

To remain in the Honours program and receive an Honours degree, students must maintain a GPA of 3.50 (effective: Winter 2020) in their program courses and, according to Faculty regulations, a minimum CGPA of 3.00 in general.聽 For more information, please click here and see Section 10.51.7 "Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) - Honours Sociology."

A Minor Concentration outside Sociology must be taken.

  • SOCI 211 (3) Sociological Inquiry
  • SOCI 330 (3) Classical Sociological Theory
  • SOCI 350 (3) Statistics in Social Research*
  • SOCI 461 (3) Quantitative Data Analysis
  • SOCI 477 (3) Qualitative Methods in sociology
  • SOCI 480 (3) Honours Project

*IMPORTANT: The following 成人VR视频 courses are considered equivalent to SOCI 350: AEMA 310, BIOL 373, ECON 227D1/D2, ECON 257D1/D2, GEOG 202, MATH 203, MGCR 271, MGCR 273, POTH 204, and PSYC 204.If you took a statistics course in CEGEP and it is recognized on your 成人VR视频 transcript as equivalent to MATH 203, it is likewise equivalent to SOCI 350. You may not take the same statistics course twice. If you have taken an equivalent statistics course, you MUST REPLACE SOCI 350 with another SOCI course at the 300 level or higher to fulfill the U2 course requirements.

Complementary Courses (30 credits*)

*At least 9 of these credits must be at the 400 level or higher, and no more than 9 of these credits may be at the 200 level.
