CLAS 348 (3) Greek and Roman Topography

Topic for Summer 20010: Cicero's Footsteps. Marcus Cicero was one of ancient Rome's most famous statesman and prolific authors, who lived during a period when Roman society underwent dramatic change. We will examine Cicero's life and times by reading a selection of his writings and visiting ancient sites, some located in Rome, that featured prominently in his career. Topographical evidence will shed light on Cicero, his works, and the world in which he lived. For more detailed information about the course content, please consult Prof. M.
