Freshman Interest Groups

Freshman Interest Groups (FIGs) are groups of approximately 15 U0 students in the B.Sc. or B.A. & Sc., led by a professor in the Faculty of Science or Faculty of Medicine and an upper-year undergraduate student. They meet once every two weeks in the Fall semester to discuss a wide range of topics, such as science in the news, program choices, undergraduate research opportunities, or just aspects of life in Montreal. The purpose of a FIG is to ease the transition to ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ and Montreal and to provide you an opportunity to interact with a professor and with other U0 students in a small group. FIGs carry no credit and there is no charge. For more information and to see how to register, refer to www.mcgill.ca/science/student/fig.
