Cardiac Surgery is a dynamic and highly technical field which cares for people with life-threatening problems It is an honour to lead the Division of Cardiac Surgery and provide a healing environment for our patients and their families.
I have extensive clinical experience in all areas of cardiac surgery with special emphasis on aortic surgery, aortic valve repair, surgical replacement, and trans arterial approaches to the aortic valve. I have been involved in surgical education and simulation my whole career and take pride in forming the next generation of surgeons and helathcare professionals. I also have an active research group where i collaborate with my engineering colleagues on aortic biomechanics.
I promote a collaborative environment and with my healthcare colleagues try to create a learning healthcare system focused on quality improvement and patient outcomes.
