Dr. Florian Marx is a physician and epidemiologist at Heidelberg University Hospital, Germany. His research focuses on the epidemiology of tuberculosis (TB) and the impact of public health interventions on reducing TB morbidity and mortality in high-risk populations. He currently leads an Emmy Noether Research Group funded by the German Research Foundation focused on strategies to optimize TB treatment outcomes.

Qualitative Methods in Global Infectious Diseases Research Course
This course focuses on the principles and rigorous application of qualitative methods in formative, operational, evaluation, and policy research on infectious diseases in diverse global settings. Teaching includes didactical lectures, dedicated periods for interactive exercises and short topical presentations and/or panel discussions.
