Office of Academic Reviews (OAR)

Mission

The mission of the Office of Academic Reviews (OAR) is to apply world-class quality assurance processes to 成人VR视频鈥檚 academic programs and units; processes that are responsive, useful, adaptable, student-centred, and aligned with strategic priorities.

Mandate

The Office of Academic Reviews (OAR) is responsible for creating, implementing, maintaining, and revising regulations and operational quality assurance processes and procedures for 成人VR视频鈥檚 academic reviews. The process is designed to be flexible, transparent, accountable, and respond to the needs of units and Faculties. It includes a suite of possible review options ranging from a simple check in of an existing program all the way to full department reviews, involving external reviewers and site visits.

Academic Review Process

In Fall 2022 the new review ecosystem was launched which, when fully implemented, will consist of a suite of nine different types of reviews. OAR will meet with Deans annually in the Spring to determine the number and type of reviews that the Faculties would like to conduct in the upcoming academic year. The academic review process involves many stakeholders and is guided by a set of听Procedures.

Phase 1

  • Unit
  • Program or group of programs
  • New Program
  • Existing Program Check In
  • Accredited Programs

Phase 2 (planned launch in AY2024-25)

  • Research Centres (in collaboration with the Office of the Vice-President (Research and Innovation) and Deans)
  • Academic Administrative Units (in collaboration with Internal Audit)
  • Offsite Academic Facilities
  • Offsite Research Facilities

OAR's work is governed by the Regulations on Academic Reviews, approved by 成人VR视频's Senate.
