Dr. Srinath Satyanarayana聽is a medical doctor from India with specialized training in Community Medicine, Public Health, and a doctorate in Epidemiology (from 成人VR视频, Canada), with more than 20 years of experience in the field of public health. He has been serving as the Director of the Indian Council of Medical Research鈥檚 National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis (ICMR-NIRT), Chennai (a premier TB research institute in India) since July 2025.聽His core expertise spans implementation research, advocacy, and technical support for public health programmes in India and in several low- and middle-income, high鈥揟B-burden countries across Asia and Africa. His research work focuses on developing innovative strategies, generating evidence, and advancing evidence-based planning and implementation鈥攑articularly in the areas of tuberculosis elimination, antimicrobial resistance, and lung health.聽He has also served as an international consultant for the World Health Organization, the Stop TB Partnership (Geneva), and the Global Fund.
Current research projects:
As director of ICMR-NIRT, he focuses on all research projects being undertaken at the institute with special focus on novel diagnostic tests, shorter safer anti-TB treatment regimens, vaccine research, and better strategies for provision of quality diagnosis, treatment and preventive care for India's population.聽
