The first meeting of the new executive was held in October. The financial statements were read and the Society was found to be in a good position after last year鈥檚 activities. Following this, the plans for the coming year were discussed. It was agreed that an effort should be made to hold a banquet each month to give the students a chance to discuss their academic problems with their professors.
The first of these was held late in October with a visiting dean as the guest speaker. An excellent meal and appropriate refreshments were served, which helped to make evening a great success.
Arrangement were made to hold a Commerce night at the park slide after Christmas. These parties have always been very popular with the students.
Throughout the session numerous other Commerce events were held which were well supported by the undergraduates.
The executive would like to thank the Commerce students for the excellent co-operation they received during the 1947-1948 session in making the year鈥檚 activities such a success.
