Commerce Undergraduate Society

Front—B. Douglas, Pres., T. MacLennan, S.E.C. Rep. Back—M. Foltin, Treas.; M. Klein, Sec’y.; J. Vipond, Vice-Pres.,; P. Abbott, Athletics Rep.

This year’s C.U.S. continued the policy of complementing the general campus program with a number of activities designed to be of particular interest of students in the School of Commerce.

A number of industrial tours and two Gen-Nites were held during the year. In a very successful Gen-Nite the Director and Staff of the School of Commerce met with students to explain and discuss new opportunities for specialization to be put into effect in the 1954-55 term. Trivial of the Marketing and Political Science was successful and the groundwork was laid for an Industrial Relations Club and a Business Management Club to fit in with the following year’s curriculum.

Social events during the year were highlighted by the Pre-Carnival Cocktail Party and the closing Dinner Dance. Athletically, the ‘Cupids’ and ‘Worms’ in softball and floor hockey respectively, carried the Commerce banner to the top.

Before closing the book on this year’s activities, the C.U.S. wishes to take this opportunity to thank Professor Kierans and his staff for the broad co-operation from them during the term.
