Focus

Tuberculosis Care and Research

SimonGrandjean Lapierre completed an MD at Université de Sherbrooke and residency training in Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases ,and Medical Microbiology at Université de Montréal. He also completed an MSc in molecular diagnostics applied to mycobacteria at Université Aix-Marseille. He subsequently did his post-doctoral training in Madagascar on the use of emerging technologies in global health and sequencing-based TB diagnostics. He is presently a clinical investigator at the Montreal University Hospital Research Centre (CRCHUM) and an Associate Professor in the Université de Montréal's Department of Microbiology, Infectious Diseases, and Immunology.

SimonGrandjean Lapierre directs a translational research program focused on the impact of molecular epidemiology on TB control in high-burden settings and new technologies, including digital cough monitoring for screening and clinical monitoring of TB disease. His research is supported by the Fonds de Recherche Santé Québec, the Canadian Institutes for Health Research and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
