MORSL is pleased to partner with theÌýÌýto offer a special intensive course designed toÌýguideÌýstudentsÌýto connect with wild nature asÌýa partÌýof their spiritual formation journey.ÌýUsing as a baseÌýanÌýonline curriculum calledÌýSpiritual Formation in the Wild, developed by teacher and wilderness guide Aram Mitchell, MORSL isÌýaccompanyingÌýa student cohort through the three core modules that include short videos, grounding exercises, readings, and outdoor activities. Through the materials, studentsÌýwill survey the many benefits and methods ofÌýnatureÌýconnection as they deepen their own relationship with the natural world. In addition to exploring the online materials, the MORSL student cohort experience offers a community of ³ÉÈËVRÊÓÆµ students who are journeying together,ÌýreflectingÌýand growing new connections. Each day will include:Ìý

  • Introduction to a themeÌý
  • Poem or reading to contextualize the themeÌý
  • Short videos presenting perspectives from various thinkersÌý
  • JournalingÌý
  • Outdoor activityÌý
  • Reflection discussionÌý
  • Closing meditation (approx. 5 minutes)Ìý
  • Snacks
  • This courseÌýincludes materialsÌýdelivered onlineÌý(video, audio, discussionÌýboard). Students will have the opportunity to engage with materials asynchronously throughout the program.ÌýÌý

Eligibility requirements for bursary:ÌýÌý

Students who register may be eligible for an awardÌýof $125 CADÌýto offset theÌýprogramÌýregistration fee if they meet all of the following criteria*: Ìý

  1. Register via myInvolvement for this event and receive confirmationÌýfrom MORSL, using your ³ÉÈËVRÊÓÆµâ€¯student email.Ìý
  2. Be currently registered for at least one 3-credit course.
  3. Have direct deposit set up in your student account to receive the MORSL award.Ìý
  4. Register and pay for theÌýprogramÌývia the host website by March 2. Host website is:ÌýÌý
  5. MeetÌýallÌýthe participation requirements, including:
  • Attend all 3 sessions (in person or online attendanceÌýrequired)Ìý
  • Complete the 3 writing activities (short responses to discussion promptsÌýeach day)Ìý
  • Produce a final reflection piece (short essay, photo collage, poem, art, etc.)ÌýÌý

*Note that the award is only granted after programÌýcompletion, ifÌýallÌýconditionÌýareÌýmet.ÌýÌý
